Position OverviewAs the Human Resources Business Partner, you will report directly to the Human Resources Manager and collaborate with key stakeholders to provide comprehensive HR guidance and services. This role is pivotal in supporting the Lake Vermont project, which stands as Thiess' largest initiative.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour primary responsibilities will include:
- Engaging in a dynamic work environment that offers variety and challenges, suitable for individuals who thrive under pressure.
- Delivering advice, training, and support to operational teams throughout the employee lifecycle, covering areas such as compensation, employee engagement, policies, and performance management.
- Leading conflict resolution and managing disciplinary actions, disputes, and investigations effectively.
- Providing support for workplace injury management.
- Assisting the broader Queensland HR team in executing HR and industrial relations activities for the project.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of effective people strategies and initiatives.
- Promoting community engagement, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Collaborating closely with the Human Resources Manager as needed.
- Advocating for a values-driven approach to HR practices.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
- Experience in human resources within the mining or heavy industry sector.
- A relationship-focused approach to human resources.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- A proven track record of establishing strong professional relationships and influencing positively.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
- A positive mindset and a commitment to professional growth in HR.
