About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Services Supervisor to join our team at Respect Aged Care. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for implementing, coordinating, and monitoring an efficient and effective preventative and corrective maintenance program for our buildings, equipment, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Asset Management
    • Coordinate the maintenance of an up-to-date asset register to ensure accurate tracking and management of our facilities' assets.
  • Facilities Maintenance
    • Manage the refurbishment, equipment replacement, and capital works planning to ensure our facilities remain safe and functional.
    • Identify preventative maintenance requirements and document a schedule to prevent equipment failures and minimize downtime.
    • Ensure preventative maintenance and corrective action are taken according to legal requirements and documented schedules, including requirements for essential services.
    • Oversee external contract agreements and on-site works to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of maintenance services.
    • Manage records of the maintenance program to ensure compliance and accountability.
    • Ensure adequate stock items are available for regular corrective maintenance jobs.
    • Oversee the maintenance of neat, tidy, and safe grounds, including watering and landscaping.
    • Ensure high-quality standards are maintained in resident rooms and public areas.
    • Oversee testing and tagging at the facility (perform the task if suitably qualified).
    • Assist the General Manager with the fire and evacuation plan at the facility, and provide basic training to new staff as required.
    • Ensure company-owned vehicles are kept clean and tidy and serviced in accordance with the service maintenance schedule.
    • Perform an on-call service at times when maintenance staff are not on duty at the facility, as directed by the General Manager.
    Requirements
    • Essential Skills and Qualifications
      • General maintenance and gardening skills.
      • Current Driver's License.
      • Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
    • Desirable Skills and Qualifications
      • Knowledge or experience in establishing and coordinating a maintenance program.
      • Experience in maintenance and horticulture management.
      • An accredited trade certificate relevant to the position.
      • An accredited testing and tagging certificate.
      • Experience in residential aged care or similar business.
