Job Description

This role is inclusive of a 25% casual loading.

  • Duration: 12-month contract
  • RELIABILITY AND STABILITY
  • $60/Hour + Super
  • Hours: 37.5hrs per week
  • Office based role
Key Responsibilities

The role is responsible and accountable for complex and sensitive natured works under limited direction, supervising staff. The role will also support the project management capabilities of the department by undertaking procedural, clerical, administrative and operational activities as required.

  • Interpret and advise on the application of legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Identify and resolve complex issues, ensuring alignment with government objectives and stakeholder needs.
  • Monitor and manage the performance, quality, and risk of the section, including coordinating workflow, resource allocation, and production benchmarks
  • Support the strategic direction of the section by managing competing priorities to meet departmental goals and objectives.
  • Supervise junior staff, providing coaching, development opportunities, and performance feedback.
  • Prepare, review, and manage the production, dissemination, and storage of correspondence, reports, briefings, and other documentation
  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, negotiating and influencing to achieve project deliverables, enhance service delivery, and strengthen departmental networks.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of departmental functions and contribute to the development and improvement of systems for planning, implementing, and monitoring department projects
  • Organise and coordinate appointments, correspondence, and communications with key stakeholders, ensuring timeliness and prioritisation of competing demands.
Requirements

Successful candidate will have:

  • Previous leadership experience
  • Previous experience of leadership in Administration, Assessment & compliance environments
  • Resilience and ability to handle tough conversations
  • Reliability and ability to work towards deadlines
  • Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain Baseline security Clearance
