Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Creature Technical Director to join our team at Industrial Light & Magic. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with 5+ years of experience in creature animation and technical direction.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of anatomy, muscle dynamics, and aesthetics of body/face deformations. They should be proficient in body/facial rigging, high-end simulations, and troubleshooting pipeline issues.

  • Lead the creation of complex character and creature simulations using Maya and other software technologies.
  • Work closely with supervisors to comprehend and execute direction for creature TDs.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on day-to-day tasks.
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve senior-level aesthetic solutions and interpret feedback from leads.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience and a degree in computer graphics, fine arts, or related field.
  • High proficiency in body/facial rigging, cloth/hair/flesh/rigid body simulations, and proprietary tools.
  • Excellent time management and people management skills.
Benefits
