Clinical Dietitian Role
The role involves providing safe, effective, and efficient nutrition care to patients and their caregivers as an essential member of the multidisciplinary team.
- Identify and assess patient nutrition risk
- Plan, implement and monitor nutrition care for inpatients across a range of clinical areas and/or oncology outpatients
- Contribute knowledge and skills to support the delivery of patient-focused nutrition care
- Apply best practice to deliver safe therapeutic diets, oral, enteral, and parenteral nutrition support
Work independently and function effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams
- Provide expert nutrition advice and guidance
Eligibility for Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status according to criteria set by the Dietetics Association of Australia (DAA)
- Hold relevant tertiary education qualifications
- Demonstrated experience applying nutrition support across a range of clinical areas
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to own personal and professional development and safe work practice
