Job Description

Clinical Dietitian Role

The role involves providing safe, effective, and efficient nutrition care to patients and their caregivers as an essential member of the multidisciplinary team.

  • Identify and assess patient nutrition risk
  • Plan, implement and monitor nutrition care for inpatients across a range of clinical areas and/or oncology outpatients
  • Contribute knowledge and skills to support the delivery of patient-focused nutrition care
  • Apply best practice to deliver safe therapeutic diets, oral, enteral, and parenteral nutrition support
Key Responsibilities

Work independently and function effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team

  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams
  • Provide expert nutrition advice and guidance
Required Skills and Qualifications

Eligibility for Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status according to criteria set by the Dietetics Association of Australia (DAA)

  • Hold relevant tertiary education qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience applying nutrition support across a range of clinical areas
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
