Program Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our Seniors team as a Program Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing social activities that promote wellness, capacity building, and restorative approaches.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for planning and facilitating activities that meet the needs and interests of clients, including arts and craft, nutrition and healthy living, life skills, excursions, fitness, gardening, woodwork, or social groups discussing topics of interest to aged persons.

As a Program Coordinator, you will be required to maintain accurate records of group attendance, report incidents/accidents, and complete other program documentation as required. You will also be expected to treat all participants, their families, and other stakeholders with respect and be inclusive of different cultures, religions, and beliefs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement social activities that promote wellness, capacity building, and restorative approaches
  • Plan and facilitate activities that meet the needs and interests of clients
  • Maintain accurate records of group attendance
  • Report incidents/accidents and complete other program documentation as required
  • Treat all participants, their families, and other stakeholders with respect and be inclusive of different cultures, religions, and beliefs

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of inclusive and innovative activities and programs
  • Experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating group activities
  • Ability to work with aged persons or persons with disabilities using a best practice approach that is compliant with legislative requirements
  • Ability to understand the needs of senior members of the community
  • Sound communication and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to independently time manage tasks

Desirable:

  • Certificate III in Aged/Community Care or equivalent
  • Experience supporting people living with dementia
  • Qualifications and/or experience in catering for groups
  • Current First Aid and Food Handling Certificate or willingness to achieve
