The Perioperative Nurse Educator plays a pivotal role in shaping education programs that directly impact patient care.

About The Position

As part of the team, you will collaborate closely with nurse managers to identify learning needs and deliver high-quality education programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and uphold education standards that promote quality patient care.
  • Identify and address individual and group learning needs.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate clinical education programs in collaboration with the Education Manager.
  • Deliver adult-learning-based clinical education and reflective practice.
  • Provide mentorship and support for new staff members.
  • Develop learning packages and competencies for perioperative units.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, healthcare professionals, and experts to enhance educational programs.
  • Support organizational change and review of relevant policies.
  • Integrate current research and evidence-based practices into education.
  • Assist with mandatory training activities.
  • Foster clear, effective communication across all levels of the organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in education or a relevant clinical area (highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach, mentor, and support nursing staff.
  • Minimum 5 years of post-registration experience in a perioperative setting (Theatre, PACU, or Anaesthetics).
  • Proven interpersonal and leadership skills.
