About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Authority to lead the Collins Class Life of Type Extension (LOTE) program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical direction and guidance to ensure the successful delivery of this complex project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to the LOTE program team, including review and approval of design documentation and technical reports.
  • Represent the Technical Director in program working groups and ensure alignment with CCSM Enterprise requirements.
  • Deputise for the Technical Director in Engineering Change and Contract Change Boards to ensure impacts to the approved program baselines are managed.
  • Provide governance and direction over the development of Certification Basis CCPs.
  • Maintain awareness of all LOTE design activities and proactively identify and resolve technical issues and emergent risks.
About You
  • Hold formal engineering qualifications sufficient to satisfy the requirements for MIEAust with Engineers Australia in a technical discipline relevant to Submarine Platform Systems.
  • Have professional body recognition to Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent) and Fellow equivalent.
  • Demonstrate evidence and experience in providing technical guidance to a multi-discipline team of engineers and technical personnel.
  • Have proven proficiency as an industry subject matter expert in at least two (2) recognised areas of engineering.
  • Have proven experience and highly developed knowledge of submarine design, operation, and sustainment, and the ability to implement.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of and specialised skills in applying principles of submarine/marine safety and the submarine/marine certification process.
  • Have experience holding and executing high-level Engineering Authority delegations.
Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. While ASC will accept all applications for this role, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
