About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Engineer to join our Principal Naval Representative – South Australia team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in coordinating all aspects of submarine maintenance, with a focus on scope, cost, schedule, and quality related to Full Cycle Docking (FCD) maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will work closely with the Collins Submarine Engineering team and Defence Industry partners to ensure that submarines exiting FCD are compliant with Navy Seaworthiness requirements.
  • You will apply technical knowledge and experience to identify risks and take these into account when providing advice for maintenance planning.
  • You will provide recommendations to decision-makers, ensuring safety aspects of Defence capability are considered and incorporated into technical activities.
  • You will manage workflows, resources, and team plans, detailing measurable deadlines and expected outcomes.
Requirements
  • You must be self-motivated, with demonstrated experience delivering complex engineering support to in-service platforms.
  • You must demonstrate high levels of flexibility and the ability to respond to changing priorities.
  • You must plan and deliver critical complex technical activities.
  • You must build and maintain positive relationships with the team and key stakeholders.
  • You must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
About Our Team

The Principal Naval Representative – South Australia team works in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy and Industry to deliver strategic submarine capability to the nation. We are part of the National Shipbuilding Sustainment Group (NSSG), responsible for the maintenance and programmed upgrade of Australia's Collins Class submarines.
