About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Governance Specialist to join our team in the Hunter Class Frigate Program based at the Osborne Naval Shipyard, SA.

The successful candidate will report to the Technical Governance Manager and be responsible for providing guidance and support to ensure a systems-oriented, integrated approach is taken with respect to technical governance activities identified within the Technical Governance Basis of Estimate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the HCFP LR&S Baseline and provide monthly compliance reporting to the Chief Engineer;
  • Support the coordination and delivery of Technical Governance activities required for the Hunter Class Frigate Project (HCFP) in support of the Chief Engineers office;
  • Provide oversight for Delegation of Authority records maintained in the Enterprise Delegation of Authority Database (EDAD);

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also provide support and advice to internal Engineering teams and, as required, external Suppliers in all matters related to the HCFP Technical Governance scope.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will require relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering along with Chartered Engineer Status (desirable). Significant experience within the Engineering or Legal/Commercial discipline is also essential. Additionally, you should have a good understanding of the product design and manufacturing lifecycle, effective use of Engineering Process, Methods, Tools and Infrastructure, and experience participating in major reviews.

Furthermore, excellent communication skills are necessary, enabling you to effectively communicate with employees and customers at all levels.
