The Training and Development Specialist is a crucial role that requires an individual to plan, organize, develop, execute, maintain, and evaluate the City's training and development functions. This position aims to align these functions with the overall business goals and objectives.
- The Training and Development Specialist will identify opportunities for training and prepare appropriate programs.
- This role involves coordinating with elected officials and department directors to address special training needs and specific requests.
- The specialist will provide support services related to training and development.
To be successful in this role, applicants must possess knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college with courses in education, human resources development, workforce development, business, or public administration. Additionally, two years of responsible training and development experience in public/business administration are required. A Master's degree and teaching experience are considered assets.
Preference is given to applicants who are full-time city residents.
