Job Overview
This role involves leading and managing the implementation of educational priorities, teaching literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum, and improving student learning outcomes. As a leading teacher, you will have a direct impact and influence on the achievement of school goals.
Main Responsibilities:
- Developing and coordinating student leadership structures in the school.
- Establishing effective working relationships with student leaders, the school, and external agencies.
- Supporting liaison staff and student leaders in their leadership of clubs, committees, programs, and processes.
- Providing ongoing training and induction for student leaders.
- Promoting the interests and activities of student leadership via regular sub-school assemblies and school publications.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of relevant curriculum and ability to lead its implementation.
- Ability to lead planning and implementation of high-impact teaching strategies responding to student learning needs.
- Ability to monitor and assess student learning at a class, cohort, or whole-school level and use this data to lead improvement initiatives.
- Exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills to lead collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the broader school community focused on student learning, agency, wellbeing, and engagement.
- Ability to model behaviours and attitudes consistent with department values and support colleagues to adopt these behaviours and attitudes.
