Job Title: Secondary Sport Recreation Teacher
About the RoleThis position involves teaching students aged 15–18 in small, well-supported class settings with strong wellbeing initiatives in place.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver VET Sport and Recreation Curriculum focusing on practical skills and industry knowledge.
- Lead physical activities fitness testing first aid event setup and coaching exercises aligned with real-world sport and recreation roles.
- Embed teamwork communication leadership and customer service skills to prepare students for work in gyms community programs or sporting organisations.
- Conduct and record assessments in accordance with VCAA and RTO standards ensuring students meet all unit outcomes.
- Guide students in organising school-based sporting events applying risk management and planning principles.
- Use applied hands-on approaches to engage students particularly those more responsive to physical and experiential learning.
- Provide career advice and support progression into apprenticeships traineeships or further study in sport fitness or recreation.
- Model and teach safe practices including OH&S procedures and emergency response protocols in sport and fitness settings.
