About the Role
The position of Clinical Nurse Consultant is a key appointment that requires advanced clinical leadership in infection prevention and control.
- Represent the service at internal and external forums, providing expert advice on infection prevention and control clinical practice.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate an Infection Prevention and Control Program for the Health Service.
- Making informed decisions in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, undertaking operational management responsibilities.
- Apply professional and clinical expertise in collaboration with nursing and multidisciplinary stakeholders to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Lead a small team, assuming operational and professional management responsibilities.
- Provide paediatric infection prevention and control clinical expertise at the local, state, and national levels.
- Participate in and manage Infection Program Service Improvement and Risk Reduction Projects and initiatives.

This role contributes significantly to the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standard 3 for the Health Service, providing expertise across the region, as well as contributing to state and national forums related to paediatric infection prevention and control.
