At Community Housing, our core objective is to provide safe and affordable housing options that empower individuals and families to thrive.
The RoleWe are seeking a passionate Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team in Kempsey.
In this role, you'll contribute to enhancing the health and wellbeing of the local community by sharing accurate information, raising awareness at events and outreach activities, and helping people access essential services and resources.
You will also provide valuable insights from the community to help us improve and grow our programs.
Essential Criteria:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse groups.
- Cultural competency and sensitivity, particularly when working with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
- Ability to engage with individuals, families, and groups through events, outreach, and conversations.
- Active listening, empathy, and the ability to provide appropriate support and referrals.
- Organisational and time management skills to plan and prioritise work.
- Ability to document engagement activities, maintain accurate records, and report outcomes.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills to support colleagues and communicate with stakeholders.
- Digital literacy to use communication platforms, maintain records, and support reporting.
- Commitment to providing accurate and current community information.
