About the Role

Donnybrook District High School is seeking a highly motivated and committed Secondary Deputy Principal to join their leadership team. The successful applicant will bring a solid and effective teaching and learning background, reflective of the Department of Education's Teaching for Impact and Donnybrook District High School's Agreed Approach.

The Deputy Principal will provide an important layer of educational leadership at the Senior Campus, leading the implementation of a middle school model that supports the school's quest to successfully transition our students from Primary to Secondary. This model focuses on the importance of relationships, whilst providing wrap-around support and clearly aligned strategies and interventions to enhance student social and emotional learning and improve the academic achievement and progress of all our students.

The position is well-suited to an agile leader who can perform at a high level in both operational and leadership spaces. They should be actively committed to supporting the school's improvement strategies as outlined in the 2023-27 Business Plan, Your Child: Our Focus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of a middle school model to support student transition from Primary to Secondary
  • Provide educational leadership at the Senior Campus
  • Support the teaching of MESH Learning Areas in Years 7 and 8
  • Enhance the effectiveness of our Professional Learning Community and Committee structures

Requirements

  • Registration with the Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia
  • Valid Working With Children Check
  • Consent to a National Criminal History Check
  • Ability to work in a diverse range of educational settings
  • High level of interpersonal and public relations skills
  • Demonstrated professional knowledge and ability to apply this knowledge to ensure high educational outcomes for all students
