Governance Framework Specialist

This senior position plays a pivotal role in coordinating the development and implementation of Council's Governance framework, promoting good governance, and maintaining probity of decision-making processes.
The specialist provides expert advice to all departments and the Executive team, ensuring alignment with Policy and Legislative Compliance Frameworks.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate Council's Governance framework and provide expert advice to Executive and staff.
- Prepare business papers, agendas, minutes, and allocate actions.
- Manage delegations, legislative compliance, and oversee the process for identifying legislation changes.
- Maintain various registers, including GIPA, Delegations, Donations, and Sponsorship.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and review of Council's Policy Framework.
- Manage the Internal Audit function and coordinate the operation and support for the Audit Risk and Improvement Committee.
A leadership role, we are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in a similar position.
Ideal candidates will have an understanding of Local Government legislation and processes and a tertiary qualification in law, corporate governance, public policy, or a related discipline.
Excellent communication skills and experience in complex report writing, strategy, and plan development are essential.
