Job Summary

This role encompasses leading the implementation of medication safety protocols within a hospital setting, fostering collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams and promoting meaningful consumer engagement.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced pharmacist to join our dynamic team. In this capacity, you will champion evidence-based safe medication practices across the hospital, spearhead initiatives such as Medication Safety Audits, oversee the Safe Use of Medicines Committee, and contribute to incident reviews and policy development.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with pharmacy, nursing, medical staff, Patient Safety Managers, and consumers to promote safe medication practices.
  • Spearhead initiatives such as Medication Safety Audits, Medication Reconciliation Programs, and Formulary Management.
  • Oversee the Safe Use of Medicines Committee and ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulations.
  • Contribute to incident reviews and policy development to drive quality improvement and support compliance with regulatory standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A degree in Pharmacy or related field and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Proven experience in clinical leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Strong knowledge of medication safety principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
