Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Midwifery Student to join our team as a casual Assistant in Midwifery. This role provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable experience working in midwifery before graduation.

About the Role

An Assistant in Midwifery works within a midwifery plan of care under the supervision and direction of a Registered Midwife (RM) and within the limits of the AIM position description and local policy and protocol.

Key Responsibilities
  • To work within a midwifery plan of care under the supervision and direction of a Registered Midwife (RM).
  • To conduct nursing practice in a manner that respects the rights of individuals and groups.
Requirements

Is currently enrolled as a Midwifery Student (with successful completion of at least two semesters). Can commit to a minimum of one shift per month on a casual basis.

Salary and Benefits

The remuneration for this position is $25.38 - $27.85 per hour, plus superannuation and casual loading. In addition to this, you will receive access to free courses, qualifications and coaching via Sydney Education, confidential EAP counselling for staff and their families, and other benefits.

This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health, you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2024_015).
