Disability Support Role Overview:

This position involves working with individuals who have disabilities, providing them with the support and care they need to lead fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support clients in participating in age-appropriate activities, employment, in-home support, and community access
  • Provide direct care assistance according to client service plans and manager directions
  • Monitor client safety and well-being, reporting concerns to the manager
  • Offer 1:1 or small group training and support tailored to individual client needs
  • Document relevant information on support provided in client notes and communication books

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module completion is essential
  • New Worker NDIS Induction Module certification required
  • Valid driver's license and comprehensive car insurance
  • Working with children check clearance
  • National criminal record clearance
  • Certificate III in Disability or equivalent qualification (desired)

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in personal care services and/or managing challenging behaviors advantageous
  • Experience in mental health care highly desirable

Essential Skills:

  • Genuine desire to provide quality support to people with disabilities
  • Reliable character and strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, families, agencies, and professionals
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of privacy and confidentiality issues
