**Job Opportunity:** Access Navigator for Efficient Patient Flow

  • We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Registered Nurse to play a key role in the Short Stay Unit.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to develop effective care models, patient flow strategies and be a professional leader among staff employed in the unit.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish performance objectives to ensure timely access targets across the Emergency Department, Short Stay Unit, and inpatient admissions.
  • Optimise patient movement through the Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit to deliver timely patient care and enhance the patient experience.
  • Facilitate the smooth and expedient progression of all patients through the Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit, aligning with Emergency Access Target performance indicators as mandated by health authorities.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to identify and eliminate barriers hindering timely access to care.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to streamline Emergency Department/Short Stay Unit access and patient flow.

**Requirements:

  • Current Nursing Registration with relevant health regulatory bodies.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in Emergency nursing.
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Emergency Nursing (desired).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of performance indicators related to patient flow and access.
