Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SRA Supervisor to join our dynamic and enthusiastic team at Healius. This role involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the highest standards of diagnostic testing and laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct both manual and automated diagnostic evaluations.
  • Oversee all standard procedures from the moment specimens are received to the final reporting of results for pathological assessments, including specimen dissection.
  • Assist in managing inventory and stock control.
  • Ensure meticulous record-keeping and documentation of results in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain and operate laboratory equipment following strict guidelines.
  • Stay updated with the latest scientific advancements.
  • Engage in routine quality assurance activities and audits.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements and the development of new testing methodologies as necessary.
  • Participate in the training and development of laboratory staff.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders regarding test outcomes and referrals.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, workplace health and safety regulations, and quality assurance processes.

Candidate Profile

To qualify for this role, candidates should possess the following essential qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science), or equivalent.
  • Proven experience and expertise in the relevant field.
  • Background in a pathology laboratory setting.
  • Experience supervising laboratory personnel in their daily tasks.
  • Comprehensive understanding of quality control, quality assurance processes, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to resolve technical challenges effectively.
  • Demonstrated capability to identify and implement quality and service enhancements in line with accreditation standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong commitment to quality and excellence in service delivery.
  • Willingness to comply with departmental and organizational policies.
  • A positive attitude towards teamwork and achieving collective goals.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
