About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Functions & Events Manager to join our esteemed bar and grill in Canberra. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and executing all events and functions, ensuring each one is flawlessly delivered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate all events and functions, including weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings
  • Liaise with clients to understand their needs and preferences, and provide exceptional customer service
  • Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring seamless transitions and timely completion
  • Manage event staff and delegate tasks, ensuring effective communication and teamwork
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and bar teams to deliver exceptional service and ensure high-quality food and beverage offerings
  • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring financial management and cost control
Requirements
  • Proven experience in event management, preferably in a hospitality setting
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work under pressure and handle last-minute changes
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities, with a focus on building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards, with a commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all events
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances
