Job Summary:
Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Legal Adviser to join our team, focusing on developing legally accurate information and educational resources for the arts and culture sector.
This role involves creating plain language content, web-based resources, templates, policies, guidance, and training materials related to workplace relations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of anti-discrimination law, commercial law, work health and safety, and workplace relations/labour law.
- Creating high-quality plain language trauma-informed website content and education resources on workplace relations topics.
- Building and maintaining a legal plain language toolkit, including interactive web-based tools and resources.
- Researching and reviewing plain language content to ensure it remains up-to-date, including changes in legislation.
The successful candidate will also provide specialist advice on working conditions, fair pay, work health and safety, and workplace respect, aligning recommendations with the broader strategic priorities of our organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in law.
- Relevant experience working in a legal or policy setting, such as work health and safety, commercial law, anti-discrimination, or human rights, industrial relations, or government.
- Excellent writing skills, with experience creating high-quality plain language information resources.
- Strong legal research skills, with ability to synthesise complex concepts and apply them to various work contexts.
