Project Officer Role

This role is part of the newly established First Nations Health team, focusing on undertaking a review of cultural safety standards in hospitals to improve healthcare for First Nations people.

The Project Officer will be involved in various project management activities, including administrative and logistical support, managing project documentation, contract management, procurement, and research. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting project planning and documentation
  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress
  • Identifying issues and proposing solutions
  • Providing secretariat support and other administrative tasks

To be considered for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen with First Nations Heritage. Essential skills include strong written communication, interpersonal, research, strategic analysis, and time management skills. Understanding of government processes, knowledge of the Australian healthcare system, and familiarity with safety and quality issues are also necessary. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area are preferred but not essential.
