Job Title: Planning and Building Business Support Officer

We are seeking a detail-oriented administrative professional to join our team at the local council in Melbourne's south-east. This is a full-time contract role that requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Process and coordinate planning and building applications
  • Prepare and issue correspondence, reports, and property information
  • Audit and accurately enter data into Council systems (Pathway, TRIM)
  • Support statutory returns, purchase orders, and invoicing processes
  • Assist the team with general administration and utilise a dedicated phone system
Key Requirements:
  • Solid administration background with experience in customer-facing roles
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Effective communication skills with the capacity to liaise across teams
  • Proficiency in MS Office and willingness to learn new systems
  • Previous experience in local government, planning, or building services is highly desirable
