About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technology Analyst to join our team at the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. As a key member of our Compliance Planning team, you will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of innovative technology solutions that improve field management of the Marine Parks and Island National Parks for the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technology Solution Development: Identify, investigate, trial, develop, test, and operationalize innovative technology solutions that substantially improve delivery of the Reef Joint Field Management Program, with a particular focus on legislative compliance.
  2. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports, analysis, costings, and recommendations on technology solutions to support informed decision-making.
  3. Implementation and Support: Support the implementation of new technology through appropriate change management, training, and support to ensure seamless adoption and operability.
  4. Operability and Maintenance: Ensure the ongoing operability of technologies used by the Program, including data management and visualization tools.
  5. Collaboration and Consultation: Consult with colleagues in the Reef Authority and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service to support implementation, procurement, ownership, and licensing requirements for technology solutions.
  6. Professional Linkages: Establish and maintain professional linkages with other relevant Commonwealth and Queensland government agencies, research institutions, the private sector, and reef industries to ensure a contemporary understanding of needs and the application of technology solutions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Understanding of Emerging Technologies: An understanding of current and emerging technologies relevant to environmental management and regulatory compliance.
  • Agile Working Experience: Experience with Agile ways of working and applicable tools, such as Azure DevOps.
  • Data Querying and Analysis: Experience with data querying (SQL) and tools such as Databricks or PowerBI.
