Position Overview: Registered Nurse in Aged Care

As a Registered Nurse specializing in Aged Care, you will be responsible for orchestrating and delivering care that is evidence-based and customized to the distinct needs of each resident. Your primary aim will be to empower residents, enabling them to maintain their independence and lead fulfilling lives to the fullest extent possible. You will serve as a mentor and support for your colleagues, fostering a collaborative and empathetic care environment.

Reporting directly to the Facility Manager, you will also engage in specific projects and responsibilities as assigned, collaborating closely with the Clinical Manager, Nurse Supervisor, Consultant, and other team members. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Offer clinical guidance and support to the Residential Aged Care Team as necessary.
  2. Utilize resources and equipment efficiently and responsibly for authorized purposes only.
  3. Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to ensure the clinical care needs of residents are met.
  4. Deliver exceptional customer service to residents, ensuring their satisfaction.
  5. Maintain effective professional relationships with other service providers, medical professionals, and health practitioners as required.
  6. Comply with the Aged Care Code of Conduct and the Charter of Care Recipients' Rights and Responsibilities in Residential Aged Care.

Qualifications:

  1. Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
  2. Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  3. At least 12 months of experience following registration.
  4. Current CPR certification.
  5. Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Professional Suite (all applications).
  6. Strong interpersonal and active listening skills.
  7. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  8. A collaborative team player.
  9. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize tasks according to strict guidelines and attention to detail.
  10. Proven decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
  11. Strong time, task, and priority management skills.
