Key Roles and Responsibilities

Our organization requires a skilled Technician to oversee daily operations, guaranteeing exceptional customer service and comprehensive Maintenance services. To succeed in this position, the Shift Technician must thoroughly comprehend procedures, processes, and execute them according to established standards.

The ideal candidate will hold a minimum certificate III Electrical/Electrotechnology electrician with a non-restricted license. They will be responsible for ensuring that maintenance activities are carried out safely and effectively within the buildings, adhering to Health and Safety guidelines and maintaining a 100% uptime criterion.

  1. Ensure all maintenance tasks are executed in line with established protocols, prioritizing Health and Safety, business risk management, and meeting contractual obligations.
  2. Deliver exceptional response times for asset performance, complete assigned work efficiently, and address abnormal operating conditions and housekeeping issues promptly.
  3. Perform routine planned preventative maintenance tasks as required within HV and LV distribution systems, associated plant/equipment, and HVAC mechanical cooling/heating systems as determined by the CMMS system's work orders.
  4. Monitor BMS for running and alarm conditions when necessary.
  5. Conduct building walk-rounds, take meter readings from UPS, PDU's, and other electrical equipment to monitor capacity.
  6. Investigate faults, identify root causes, and implement remedies.
  7. Prepare accurate and timely service/incident reports as required.
  8. Ensure corrective/repair works are executed in accordance with current regulations.
  9. Assist with equipment installation works and asset data capture when necessary.
  10. Participate in emergency call-out rosters, providing cover for weekend and team member absences as required.
  11. Develop an in-depth understanding of the building(s) infrastructure, layouts, functions, and complexities.
  12. Communicate effectively through advice, review, leadership, and direct contribution to team meetings, briefings, correspondence, monthly, and ad-hoc reporting, as appropriate.
  13. Act as a point of contact during significant events or multi-discipline technical escalations occurring within specified sites.
  14. Participate in business continuity plans as necessary.
  15. Guarantee data centre operations comply with CBRE business policies and processes at your sites, implementing and adhering to these within the contract.
  16. Maintain a customer-centric approach throughout operational activities, fostering effective relationships with key client contacts, ensuring SLA's and KPI's within the Scope of Works (SOW) are met and record retention demonstrates adherence.
  17. Manage contractors/suppliers to ensure maintenance, repairs, and operations meet high standards and align with maintenance agreements/SLAs.
  18. Promote and maintain the core Values of the organization, presenting a professional image onsite at all times.
  19. Manage other tasks as directed by the client.
  20. Escalate relevant matters to superiors as soon as practically possible.
  21. Provide relief to the Shift Lead during their absence.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Must possess thorough knowledge of safety code-related requirements, with experience in Health & Safety Risk Assessments and Control Measures.
  • Proven experience in maintaining critical and temperature control conditioned environments.
  • Detailed understanding and experience of electrical and mechanical systems used in data center environments, including Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Fuel Systems, Switchgear, UPS systems, Battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Air handling units, chilled water systems, Fire Alarm systems, and Fire Suppression systems (pre-action sprinklers).
  • Previous exposure to maintenance scheduling and subcontractor management and supervision.
  • Strong understanding of ticketing or workflow management systems and tools.
  • Experience in managing escalation and emergency issues.
  • Current NSW Electrical License.
  • Good building services knowledge.
  • Excellent Customer relationship skills.
  • Working knowledge of 'Permit to work' systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings/processes.
  • Experience of CMMS and BMS systems.
