About this opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Student Support Manager to join our dynamic Student Engagement Unit at the University of South Australia. In this key role, you will provide strategic advice on the implementation and delivery of consistent student support services, leading and supporting a team of international student advisers to work with all students across our campuses in a complex, cross-cultural environment.

As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement by planning, developing, implementing, promoting, and evaluating projects and programs that enhance the student experience. Your expertise will be invaluable in measuring student support services efficiencies and effectiveness, and developing recommendations to deliver an outstanding student experience.

**About the role**

This is a full-time position based at our City West campus in Adelaide. The salary for this role is estimated to be around $85,000 - $115,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.

**Key responsibilities**

  • Provide strategic advice on the implementation and delivery of consistent student support services;
  • Lead and support a team of international student advisers to work with all students across our campuses;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and develop recommendations to deliver an outstanding student experience;
  • Measure student support services efficiencies and effectiveness;
  • Analyse data and information to inform decision-making;
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required.

**Essential skills and qualifications**

  • Demonstrated research and analytical skills, including the provision of advice and recommendations to senior management;
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply research-based best practice pedagogy for the development, evaluation, and improvement of university-level programs and initiatives;
  • Demonstrated skills in interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and legislative principles in response to changing environments;
  • Highly developed organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and collaboratively;
  • An excellent understanding of issues relating to international students in higher education settings, with a demonstrated commitment to keeping abreast of changes in legislation or best practice.
