About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our client, a not-for-profit organisation providing insurance and benefits to professionals across Australia.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience in a similar position within the insurance industry, with strong exposure to Agile practices and a proven track record of leading and mentoring teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and lead a team of three Business Analysts, guiding them to achieve business objectives through effective process improvements.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to translate complex business problems into actionable technical requirements, ensuring seamless alignment with business goals.
  • Develop and utilise artefacts such as BA practice methodologies, requirements templates, process diagrams, journey maps, change and communication plans, and agile practices to drive business success.
  • Advocate for and implement better business analysis disciplines within the wider business and technology team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated recent experience in a similar position within the insurance industry, with a deep understanding of policy administration, underwriting workflow, and claims systems and processes.
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of Business Analysts, with a strong focus on knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Strong exposure to Agile practices, including advanced knowledge of MS Tools (SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft 365) and Atlassian Toolset (Confluence, JIRA), process mapping, storyboarding, and wireframing.
  • Knowledge and understanding of business system and process analysis, with a strong systems mindset including all aspects of the BA value stream and solutions development lifecycle.
