Job Opportunity: Environment and Sustainability Manager

The Australian Government Department of Defence seeks passionate, innovative, and solution-focused professionals to take up various roles within the ACT Environment & Sustainability team.

  • Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidates will be responsible for providing environment and heritage legislative, policy, and technical advice;
  Implementing Defence environmental policy and strategies;
  Oversight of land management activities on the Defence Estate;
  Environmental assessments and approvals of infrastructure projects and military activities;
  Environmental risk and incident management;
  Operating within an information and spatial management system;
  Undertaking a broad range of stakeholder engagement and liaison;
  Leading and guiding other environment and sustainability team members.

The ACT Environment & Sustainability team provides professional environmental advice in support of the Defence Environmental Strategy 2016-2036. The team's purpose is to help Defence be a leader in sustainable environmental management to support the Australian Defence Force's capability to defend Australia and its national interests.
