Koorie Student Support Facilitator

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally aware individual to fill the role of Koorie Student Support Officer. This position plays a key part in increasing Koorie student engagement in learning and providing a supportive environment for our students.
This role requires providing academic support to Koorie students, creating a culturally safe and supportive environment, and establishing relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide academic assistance to Koorie students in and out of the classroom
- Increase Koorie student participation in educational activities
- Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Certificate IV in Education Support or Community Services (or willingness to obtain) or equivalent qualifications and experience
- Demonstrated experience in providing a supportive environment
- An understanding of Indigenous communities and ability to identify community needs
- An understanding of the challenges faced by Indigenous students in formal education settings
- The ability to build relationships with stakeholders
If you are successful, you will be required to provide:
- A current Police Check
- A Victorian Working with Children Check - Employee
- A current Driver's Licence
