Koorie Transition Mentor Role

  • We support Koorie young people on their education and career journey, promoting self-determination, connection to culture, and personal growth.
  • We provide culturally safe mentoring and guidance to help young Aboriginal people re-engage with education, training, or employment.
  • We work closely with families, community organisations, and support services.

Key Responsibilities

  • We mentor Koorie young people, ensuring culturally safe and supportive pathways.
  • We build trust and rapport with Koorie young people, families, and community organisations.
  • We collaborate with service providers to enhance engagement and outcomes.
  • We ensure all interactions are trauma-informed and strengths-based.

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Community Services or a related field.
  • Experience working with Koorie young people, ensuring culturally safe and supportive pathways.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
