About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Support Officer. In this role, you will provide support and guidance to students who require academic assistance.

You will work closely with students, teachers, and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students who require academic help
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase student engagement and participation
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to identify and address student needs
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate IV in Education Support or Community Services (or willingness to obtain)
  • Demonstrated experience in providing a supportive and culturally safe environment
  • An understanding of Indigenous communities and ability to identify needs of relevant community groups
  • An understanding of the issues encountered by Indigenous students in entering a formal educational setting such as TAFE
  • The ability to establish relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders
