About this Role

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to provide clinical services to women and pregnant people who are seeking abortion services.

The successful applicant will contribute to the development of programs and policies, conduct research and evaluations, and supervise junior staff members.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with community support services to ensure comprehensive care for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical services to women and pregnant people attending our facility for abortion services
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team and community support services involved in patient care
  • Possess a high-level theoretical understanding of intersectional approaches to clinical practice, particularly in relation to working with victims/survivors of family violence, reproductive coercion, abuse, and sexual assault
  • Ensure prompt intake and assessment of self-referred and newly referred patients

About You:

  • Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Demonstrated knowledge in psychosocial assessment for women and pregnant people seeking to end a pregnancy, pre-conception, during pregnancy, or post-abortion
  • Ability to work effectively with complex trauma cases
