The Women's is a tertiary referral centre for women with complex gynaecological needs, chronic pelvic pain, issues related to menopause, pelvic floor and other urogynaecological problems. The outpatient service accommdates a number of specialist clinics such as gynaecology, abortion and contraception, urogynaecology, menopause, vulva/dermatology, menopause symptoms after cancer clinics and chronic pelvic pain clinic and colonoscopy.

The Abortion and Contraception Service is a multidisciplinary service including nursing, medical and social work clinicians operating in a collaborative and mutually respectful environment. The facility also includes the Ambulatory Gynaecology Services which provides minor gynaecology procedures under local anaesthetic, as well as other satellite clinics for example, urodynamic investigation into bladder function, insertion of contraceptive intrauterine device clinics and outpatient cystoscopy are also delivered.

As a speciality service within the Women's Health Clinics, the Abortion and Contraception Service provides care to women seeking an abortion and contraception and the unit is staffed by a team who are pro-choice.

**Position purpose:

The Abortion and Contraception Service Associate Unit Manager will be responsible for the clinical and operational requirements and collaborative case management of clients attending the service. There will be a component of direct clinical care by the Associate Unit Manager in the provision of sexual health screening and assessment for clients. The successful applicant will have strong sexual and reproductive health knowledge and have excellent problem solving skills to be able to effectively and efficiently manage complex social and clinical situations.

**The successful applicant will have:

- Registration as a Division 1 Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Relevant sexual health experience with commitment to evidenced based outcomes
- Experience in the provision of sexual health care within a hospital or community setting and have experience in working with marginalised clients
- Ability to manage stressful client interactions
- Demonstrated understanding of sexual health issues within a social model of health

As this role fits into category A or B of the departments risk ratings, applicants will be required to have been vaccinated against influenza. Evidence of vaccination is required.
