About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to contribute to business growth by identifying potential new opportunities through engaging with customers and stakeholders, and undertaking market shaping activities.

  • Contribute to business growth by developing strategies, networks, and relationships that drive business development.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and advice on opportunities addressed by the business development team.
  • Lead bids and proposals by coordinating inputs, providing networking and scheduling data, and producing comprehensive proposals that meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Develop campaign strategies, customer contact plans, and provide formal briefings to senior management on key business initiatives.
  • Assist in developing business strategy by providing relevant market data and current assessments of opportunities that align with the company's goals.
  • Enhance the business profile by maintaining contacts with existing and potential customers, driving business growth through strategic partnerships and collaborations.
  • Contribute to small project achievements by acting as a project manager and offering commercial advice to management teams.
  • Represent the organization at trade shows, conferences, and industry events as required, promoting business growth and development.
Requirements
  • Advanced technical education and 9+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in business development and leadership roles.
  • Proven business development or capture experience within defence or government markets, with a strong track record of success in driving business growth.
  • Ability to develop networks, build relationships, and create new business opportunities within a defined market segment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering/technical concepts and their application in business development.
  • Deep knowledge of the Australian Defence Force procurement environment, processes, and procedures, with a strong focus on compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience leading cross-functional capture teams within a multidisciplinary environment, with a proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Eligibility
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements and access classified information.
  • Ability to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance, with a background check conducted prior to commencement.
  • May require a Foreign Work Authorization (FWA) as per the Department of Defence laws, depending on the candidate's nationality and work status.
