Role Summary:
As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant, you will engage directly with students who have diverse educational requirements, facilitating their learning journey and ensuring they receive a comprehensive educational experience. Your collaboration with educators and other specialists will be essential in fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a UK Primary School setting.
- Enhanced DBS check on the update service (preferred).
- Experience with children with SEND in educational or similar environments.
- Solid understanding of various SEND conditions and effective support strategies.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to student success.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certification) are advantageous but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEND on an individual or small group basis.
- Assist in lesson planning and delivery, modifying resources and methods as needed.
- Support students with personal care and mobility requirements when necessary.
- Track and monitor student progress, offering constructive feedback to educators and guardians.
- Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and participation.
