We are seeking a skilled Electrical Tendering Specialist to drive our business development and bidding operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full tendering process from opportunity identification to submission.

About the Role

The Electrical Tendering Specialist will play a key role in leading and managing the end-to-end tendering process, analysing tender documents, client requirements, and project specifications to determine scope, risks, and resource needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the full tendering process from opportunity identification to submission
  • Analysing tender documents and project specifications to determine scope, risks, and resource needs
  • Reviewing project scopes, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Creating accurate cost estimates, considering labour, materials, and equipment
  • Conducting market research to support pricing, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Evaluating quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Performing risk analysis and using findings into tender submissions
  • Preparing competitive bids and estimate reports
  • Building and maintaining relationships with vendors and key stakeholders
  • Providing input on project planning, including schedules and resource needs
  • Ensuring all estimates comply with legislation, safety standards, and industry requirements
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical), Diploma, or relevant trade qualification
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) qualification (desirable)
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in estimating within a large electrical contracting environment
  • Proficient in estimating software such as Simpro or equivalent
  • In-depth knowledge of estimation methods, data analysis, and research techniques
  • Proven experience with estimating low, medium, and high voltage electrical works
  • Strong understanding of Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy construction requirements
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to contribute to business development
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to deliver innovative solutions to clients
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across all levels
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to leverage team expertise to drive value
  • Solid understanding of financial and project management principles
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail and reliability in meeting deadlines
