Domestic Operations Manager

This leadership role is pivotal to our business transformation and customer service strategy. The successful candidate will have end-to-end responsibility for domestic operations across Australia, including management of metro depots and regional delivery networks.


The Domestic Operations Manager will lead a geographically dispersed team of Branch and Regional Managers and oversee the efficient, safe, and cost-effective delivery of our Priority network operations. This involves strategic thinking, strong operational acumen, and a people-first leadership approach.


Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership:
    • Developing and implementing effective operational strategies.
    • Maintaining high levels of service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Strategic Impact:
    • Collaborating with senior leaders to drive business growth and transformation.
    • Identifying and capitalizing on opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Financial & Resource Management:
    • Managing multimillion-dollar operational budgets and resources effectively.
    • Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Leading the development and implementation of safety protocols and procedures.
    • Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • People & Performance:
    • Building and leading a high-performing team of managers and staff.
    • Driving performance improvement and employee engagement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:


  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years' senior leadership experience in a similar operations role.
  • Deep knowledge of Australian logistics networks, depot operations, and linehaul/PUD performance metrics.
  • Industrial relations and workforce planning experience in a unionised environment.
  • Proven ability to lead national operations and depot networks in a logistics or transport environment.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing multimillion-dollar operational budgets.
  • Excellent people leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Clear understanding of OHS compliance, safety systems, and risk management frameworks.
