As a seasoned financial leader, you have the opportunity to shape our accounting and control landscape at Equity Trustees Limited. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this pivotal role will manage and drive excellence in accounting operations, ASX reporting, and financial compliance.

About the Role

This position is ideal for a highly skilled Financial Controller prepared to drive change, particularly through process transformation and technology optimisation. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to embed automation, efficiency, and robust financial controls, while fostering a high-performance culture within the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end period close process (month, half-year, and annual) and ensure a timely financial close.
  • Direct corporate tax compliance activities and manage regulatory capital obligations to meet ASX standards.
  • Implement and optimise our Capital Management Strategy, corporate treasury, and cash management activities.
  • Oversee continuous improvement of finance-related processes and policies across the Group.
  • Lead a high-performing team, driving staff engagement, development, and a continuous improvement mindset.
About You

We're looking for an experienced professional with a strong track record in financial leadership, process transformation, and team management. Your skills and qualifications include:

  • Significant post-qualification experience, ideally in an ASX-listed or managed services environment.
  • Proven experience as a strong people leader, skilled at fostering team engagement, continuous improvement, and performance excellence.
  • Demonstrated experience in process transformation, including finance technology implementations like Workday.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate and partner effectively with both senior executives and external stakeholders.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, or a Finance-related discipline.
  • CA and/or CPA Qualification.
