Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sommelier to join our team at a new fine dining restaurant in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate and knowledgeable wine professional to contribute to the success of our business and provide an outstanding wine experience for our guests.

  • Maintain and manage the wine inventory, cellar, and VIP wine collections.
  • Present wine lists to guests, assisting with selections to ensure perfect pairings.
  • Cater to guests' wine needs throughout service, including tastings, pouring/refilling glasses, answering questions, and delivering memorable service.

Key Responsibilities:

In addition to the above, you will also be responsible for:

  • Actively selling wine to guests, guiding them through the list and making recommendations based on preferences and menu selections.
  • Ensuring the wine list remains current and menus are up-to-date and presentable.
  • Managing wine stock with inventory pars in mind, rotating new stock with old, maintaining cleanliness in the wine storeroom and restaurant.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • Proven Sommelier experience in fine dining restaurants.
  • Knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • RSA Certificate required.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • WSET or equivalent qualifications.
  • Outstanding leadership and attention to detail.
  • Pressure management mindset.
