Role Summary

We are seeking an accomplished medical professional to provide independent and effective care for surgical patients under the supervision of specialist staff.

Main Responsibilities

  • To coordinate comprehensive patient care, including arranging consultation with other staff when appropriate, arranging discharge, and liaising with local medical officers and other community-based care modalities.
  • To assist in the operating theatres and support SET Trainees in their work.

Essential Requirements

  • Hold a MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • Be currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Have minimum five years postgraduate experience, preferably in Upper GI Surgery, FRACS or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate sufficient skills, knowledge, and experience to practice as a safe and competent surgeon.
  • Showcase demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Demonstrate moderate computer skills and skills with NSW health computer-based systems.
