Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional User Experience (UX) Designer to join our team at Qantas Airways Limited. As a UX Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our Retail and eCommerce products, driving user engagement and satisfaction.

Your primary responsibility will be to execute research, design, and development of premium, forward-thinking experiences that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and developers, to ensure seamless integration of design solutions.

About the Role
  • You will lead UX strategy and interaction design to create products that captivate and inspire users.
  • You will conduct user research, including various forms of in-person, focus group, remote/unmoderated research, surveys, and customer validation.
  • You will plan, conduct, and lead ideation workshops and design jams.
  • You will prototype solutions in various levels of fidelity and interactivity, and iterate on them based on user and stakeholder feedback.
  • You will collaborate with Qantas Design System owners and specialist UI designers and product managers to create user-focused designs informed by market analysis, customer requirements, and user research.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  1. Drive user experience strategy and deliverables from user research and validation through to wireframing, prototyping, and ideation.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement design solutions that meet business goals.
  3. Contribute to the growth and development of the UX Design team.

To succeed in this position, you should possess:

  • A strong understanding of design thinking, human-centered design, experience design, and research methods.
  • An innovative problem-solving approach, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in agile environments using Scrum methodologies.
  • A beautiful design aesthetic focusing on function while marrying compelling graphic design, leveraging Design System componentry where relevant.
  • Strong working knowledge of Figma, Miro, and analytics and testing platforms.
  • An outstanding portfolio showcasing a foundation in Research, Prototyping, Interaction, and Visual Design.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders across all levels of the business and work autonomously with these stakeholders.
