**Estimated Salary Range:** AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum, depending on experience.

**Job Description:

As a UX Engineer at Ignition, you'll play a vital role in shaping our product's user experience. You'll focus on crafting an intuitive, polished, and consistent UI that creates a seamless experience for users.

You'll collaborate closely with our design team to evolve design patterns, remove user friction, and ensure a cohesive flow throughout the app. This position requires a perfect blend of frontend technical skills and a passion for delivering high-quality, user-centred solutions.

  • Plan and execute ongoing UX improvements, refining the user experience and resolving usability issues to make our product more intuitive and user-friendly.
  • Help improve and maintain our component library to ensure our UI remains cohesive, reusable, and efficient across the product.
  • Work closely with designers, providing practical feedback to ensure design goals are achievable without sacrificing technical feasibility or maintainability.
  • Support efforts to optimise frontend performance, enhancing speed and responsiveness for seamless user interactions across all browsers and devices.
  • Collaborate with other frontend engineers, reviewing code and sharing insights to help the team consistently raise the bar on quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving frontend tools and best practices, applying that knowledge to make our product and process better every day.
  • Document your work and decisions, ensuring the team has a clear understanding of how things work and why choices were made.

**Qualifications and Skills:**

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 3+ years of frontend development experience, particularly in JavaScript and React, with a focus on building maintainable, scalable interfaces.
  • A solid understanding of design systems and component libraries, and how they contribute to cohesive UI patterns.
  • The ability to provide and receive constructive feedback, fostering a collaborative environment that enhances both design and engineering efforts.
  • An eye for detail and a high standard for quality, balanced with a pragmatic approach to delivering impactful results.
  • A proactive attitude toward problem-solving, with the ability to identify usability issues and suggest practical, user-centred solutions.
  • A genuine passion for creating intuitive, user-friendly experiences that meet real user needs.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
