About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing spatial information of a cultural heritage database and registering it online to achieve project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop policies, standards, and procedures for cultural heritage spatial information management in accordance with cultural heritage acts and industry standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends, technologies, and techniques in spatial information and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Identify and implement improvements to the database online portal system architecture as per service level agreements.
  • Develop incremental improvements to the portal system and provide information to governments as part of intellectual property agreements.
  • Provide high-level advice on complex policy issues and recommend policy options to the Director-General and Minister.
  • Advise stakeholders on cultural heritage spatial data matters, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Coordinate projects that deliver strategic initiatives, develop relationships with stakeholders, and provide specialist advice and training.
  • Coordinate reports, policy submissions, briefing notes, presentations, publications, and correspondence for consideration by executive staff and the Minister.
  • Represent the department at internal and external forums and working groups.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing spatial information and developing policies and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of cultural heritage acts and industry standards.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of current trends, technologies, and techniques in spatial information.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
