Field Service Officer

The role of a Field Service Officer is to provide support for the delivery of Taungurung Land and Waters Council's statutory functions as a Registered Aboriginal Party.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting fieldwork for Cultural Heritage Management Plans and supporting Taungurung-led projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 during site visits within an Aboriginal sensitivity zone.
  • Performing artefact analysis, as required, to inform Cultural Heritage Management Plans.
  • Documenting on-site work in accordance with agreed plans and standards.

This position requires strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A high level of cultural awareness and sensitivity is essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the protection and management of Taungurung Cultural Heritage values, working closely with stakeholders.

Applicants should have relevant experience and skills in cultural heritage management, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements include a strong understanding of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 and the ability to communicate effectively with Indigenous communities.
