We are seeking a dynamic and inquisitive Enforcement Lawyer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a direct impact on creating a fair, strong, and efficient financial system for all Australians.
About the RoleAs an Enforcement Lawyer, you will contribute to ASIC's investigations of suspected misconduct, including obtaining enforcement outcomes. You will have the opportunity to participate in varied, interesting, and impactful work, specifically:
- Support the preparation and conduct of enforcement actions including civil litigation, criminal prosecution, and administrative measures.
- Assist in the preparation and compilation of criminal, civil, and administrative briefs and support proceedings in State or Federal Courts.
- Work as part of multi-disciplinary enforcement teams.
- Engage in investigation planning and strategy discussions.
- Project manage matters and provide investigative support to ASIC officers.
- Employ evidence gathering techniques such as examinations, witness interviews, search warrants, affidavits, and notices.
- Utilise ASIC's evidence management technology and systems to derive insights from data and documents.
- Interpret and apply relevant laws to ECG's work.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, outcome-driven, and comfortable working with complex information in a changing environment. You will have a collaborative interpersonal style and enjoy working within a large, skilled team.
