About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to provide care, support and assistance to clients in their homes on the northside of Brisbane through to Bribie Island.

Mercy Community Services supports and inspires people in need to live healthy lives within inclusive communities. Our services span the continuum of aged care, from home care to respite, and we believe in helping our clients flourish.

As a Compassionate Care Specialist, you will work with clients in their homes, following their care plans, to provide support and ensure their needs are met.

  • Assisting clients with their care requirements in accordance with their care plans and preferences
  • Supporting clients with transportation and community access
  • Monitoring their condition and reporting on any changes in condition or behaviour
  • Providing in-home personal care and daily living assistance including administering medication, manual handling and domestic assistance
What You'll Be Doing

This role involves working with clients who require varying levels of support, and as such, it is essential that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will be required to maintain accurate records of client interactions and provide regular updates to our team.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Completed Certificate III in Individual Support – Ageing (or similar) or studying towards equivalent (or higher qualification)
  • Experience of working alongside clients with cognitive and/or physical limitations
  • Have your own vehicle and a Queensland Provisional Green or above clear Driver's Licence with comprehensive insurance and service history (mandatory)
  • Current First Aid Certificate and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate or willingness to obtain (prior to commencement)
  • Ability to obtain positive notice in the legislatively required personal history check in line with service stream compliance requirements
